    Driving Sustainability in Laboratory Practices

Laboratories represent some of the most resource-intensive and environmentally impactful sectors worldwide. From energy and water usage to waste generation and purchased products, laboratory operations are significant contributors to an overall increased environmental footprint. This holds true across diverse sectors, including academia, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, and more.

In this presentation, Dulan Liyanage, market development representative at My Green Lab/Impact Laboratories, will discuss implementing sustainability measures within laboratories, focusing on lab product interventions including the ACT Ecolabel. The ACT program initiative catalyzes improved communication regarding lab product sustainability and fosters a culture of continuous improvement in technology.

With an overview of lab sustainability, the presentation will share actionable strategies for various areas of the lab supply chain. Attendees will gain insights into leveraging My Green Lab programs such as ACT, My Green Lab Certification (endorsed by the United Nations-backed Race to Zero campaign), and the My Green Lab Ambassador to drive impactful change across laboratory operations.
